NPCollege's Paralegal Program is committed to excellence in education demonstrated by providing a meaningful comprehensive program containing quality didactic instruction that supports the vision, values, and mission of NPCollege by offering a Paralegal Program that adheres to the highest standards of educational integrity. In combination, the technical and general education courses ensure the adequacy of a well-rounded curriculum through classes in didactic theory and integration and acquisition of performance objectives in the real life legal setting. The goal of the Paralegal Program is the preparation of the student, through didactic instruction, in the theoretical knowledge, tasks, skills, and responsibilities required of an entry-level paralegal or legal assistant.
Paralegals perform a variety of tasks to support lawyers or their employers, including:
*Maintenance and organizing of files.
*Legal research and drafting legal documents.
*Investigation of facts of a case.
*Identifying precedent & Analyzing Judicial decisions.
It is well acknowledged that paralegals play an important role in assisting lawyers to prepare for hearings, trials, depositions and prepare reports that an attorney will refer to as he/she makes strategical decisions regarding the case. For these reasons, a paralegal must have the ability to draft motions, pleadings and other documents which outline a legal argument.
